Last year, as part of IWRA’s 50th anniversary celebration, Water International published a special issue on the past, present and future of water. This webinar features four of the contributors who will discuss critical issues related to the world’s water and the role of IWRA in the coming decades.

Both the quality and the quantity of water are becoming increasingly comprised as a result of climate change and human activities, so innovative ways of protecting water resources must be explored.  The need to ensure safe drinking water for all, even amidst increasing stressors, calls for new approaches to water distribution through piped water. Growing, and sometimes competing, needs for finite water supplies will lead to more conflicts that can be resolved through collaboration, yet an emerging trend of national bias in research and publications may impede effective cross-border collaboration.

As cross-border conflicts become more frequent and more heated, there may be a role for IWRA in achieving fair and lasting resolutions. The panel will explore all of these issues and more before addressing questions from the audience.
